My story: a new beginning

RootsGaming — Your passions, your decor.

I never imagined that one day I would be creating decorative pieces inspired by video games and pop culture.

For many years, I worked as an ambulance professional. It was a career I cared deeply about and a huge part of my life.

Then health problems changed everything. Time off work, treatment and uncertainty became part of my everyday life. Eventually, I had to accept that I could no longer do the job I loved in the same way. After all those years, I lost my job.

I had to learn to live differently and, above all, find a way to start a new chapter.

A lifelong passion

I have always loved video games, retro gaming and pop culture. The games, characters and worlds I discovered over the years are part of my memories and continue to inspire me.

So I began to explore how I could turn that passion into something tangible. I spent hours at my computer looking for ideas, designing, experimenting, starting over and perfecting the details.

I didn't want to offer just another object. I wanted to create decor with character—something that could bring back a memory or make someone smile when they recognised a world they loved.

How RootsGaming began

I started sharing my creations on Vinted without knowing what to expect. Then the first customers arrived. Their orders and kind feedback showed me that people beyond my immediate circle appreciated what I was making.

What began as a simple idea gradually became an important part of my life. That's how RootsGaming was born.

Today, I am developing collections of LED lightboxes, framed wall clocks and signature round clocks, always guided by the same idea: giving our passions a place in our homes.

My creations and what's next

I pay close attention to image composition, colour harmony, finishing touches and protecting each creation for shipping.

I'm also exploring original ideas and building a world of my own, with characters and stories that I hope to develop into new collections over time.

The journey hasn't always been easy. There have been obstacles, disappointments and moments of doubt. But RootsGaming is much more than a shop to me: it's a way to rebuild my professional life, keep learning and create something of my own.
